Edwards Law

Helping you navigate both sides of the border

Edwards Law represents professionals, employers, and individuals navigating immigration between the United States and Canada. The practice focuses on cross-border work mobility, employment-based permanent residence, and admissibility for those whose past criminal records or prior immigration issues affect entry to either country. Based in Windsor, Ontario, with bar admissions in both countries, Edwards Law serves clients across the U.S.-Canada corridor.

About Me

Most immigration lawyers practice on one side of the U.S.-Canada border. I practice on both. I am licensed in the United States and in Canada, and I represent professionals and employers whose lives, careers, and businesses cross the border in either direction. When a question involves both jurisdictions, and most cross-border situations do, I can answer it without sending you to a second lawyer.

I focus on solving problems that other lawyers will not take. An old criminal record affecting your ability to travel for work; a visa denial that needs to be overcome; a timeline that cannot slip because a job offer or a business deadline depends on it. These are the situations my practice is built around. If you have a problem, I will work to fix it.

I understand that immigration matters are rarely abstract. There is a job waiting, a business expanding, or a family decision that depends on the outcome. I work with that urgency in mind: applications prepared as soon as the file allows, communication that answers your questions when you ask them, and a practice structured to move cases forward rather than let them sit.

If you need a lawyer who understands both sides of the border and can resolve the problem standing between you and your next step, I would be glad to talk.

World Wide Assistance

I can assist you wherever you reside, right from the comfort of your office or home.

Why I want to help you cross the border

I chose immigration law because the U.S.-Canada border, for all its everyday ordinariness, can become an immovable obstacle in someone’s life. A career opportunity disappears because a work permit application was prepared incorrectly. A business expansion stalls because the executive transfer cannot be approved in time. A professional with a decades-old conviction discovers, often at the worst possible moment, that they cannot cross to attend a meeting, take a job, or visit family. These are not small problems. They reshape lives.

What I find meaningful about this work is that the obstacles are almost always solvable. The right legal pathway exists; it simply has to be identified, prepared properly, and executed without error. When that happens, the border stops being an obstacle and becomes what it should be: a line on a map that professionals, families, and businesses cross as their lives require. Helping someone get across that line, on time and without unnecessary friction, is work I am proud to do.
